Christmas, with a twist

Saturday Stampers challenge.

The twist is you cannot use Christmas Specific pictures, like Santa Claus, or a Christmas Tree etc. So make your project look Christmassy using only colours and patterns etc. You also can’t use the word “Christmas”, but anything else is fine…….good luck!!

The scanner has made the embossing look very dull and the glass needs a bit of a clean sorry.

Pink Ribbon

You can click on the ribbon here
to make a difference

This week on Saturday Stampers they'd like to tie in with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and get us all to use Pink Ribbon somewhere on your project. Any shade of pink, in any way you choose to use it.

Sorry scanning a notebook this thick isn't the easiest of things. It's also made the darker ribbon go a bit odd as it's nearly a perfect match to the ink I used on the background stamp.

This weeks theme on Saturday Stamper is DPOV- “different point of view”. Using the same stamp in different ways. Sorry the detail is lost in scanning.

I've been Tagged

I've Been Tagged!
I've been tagged by Emma
''Here are the rules which you must abide by if you are tagged.1. Link to your tagger and post these rules.2. Share 7 facts about yourself: some random, some weird.3. Tag 7 people at the end of your post and list their names (linking to them).4. Let them know they've been tagged by leaving a comment at their blogs.''
1. I used to enjoy scrambling on off road motorbikes and hold full motorbike licence
2. I wanted to be a Pyschiatric nurse until I worked in a Pyschiatric hospital and found that a lot of the staff were worse than many of the patients.
3. I've worked in accountancy for nearly 20 years up until about 4 years ago and that was also around the time I started card making.
4. I'm a part time student doing computer courses.
5. I hate any hot spiced foods - lol once at a Thai restaurant the waiter had to bring a fire extinguisher out to me.
6. I was asked the other day what I wanted to be when I grow up - the things is I don't think I'll ever grow I'm such a child. :o)
7. I'm a big fan of the Harry Potter Books & films still have a couple more films to wait for.

and also

Well, well, Cynthia has tagged me as well today. It must be my day!!Ok here are the four questions Cynthia asks:

Name four places I have worked Pyschiatric Hospital, Pub, Restaurant, Accountants Office

Name four places I have lived Shripney, Mancester, Elmer, Isle of Wight

Name my four favourite foods Fillet Steak, Sweet & Sour Chicken, Chips, Fresh Pineapple.

Now I have to tag four more people to answer the same questions so here are the friends I have chosen:

I'm just going to tag 4 people and they can decided which they want to do.

Treasures & Boats

The theme on Saturday Stamper this week is treasures.
I've loads of different ideas but not the right stamps to do them! LOL I bet we all say that at least once a week. This week I was inspried by a special friend who sent me an altered notebook I just couldn't wait to try doing one myself, I treasure the fact that I've learnt something new from my friend and have been able to incorporate my love of the sea and the world which also holds many tresures. So I did have stamps that worked after all :0)
Cars, Boats, Trains & Planesis the theme for our Little Extra challenge this week on DCM. A good chance to stock up on kids cards and make a few of those poor, unloved "cards for men", maybe? How about "congratulations on Passing your Driving test" or "Got your Wings" for newly qualified pilots? - ok so we may be reaching a bit far with that one, but you never know! Basically, what we'd like you to do is put some transport on your cards this week, how you do it is up to you!

Sorry scanning this depth isn't too good, the front has a semi - opaque actate cover with brads going through it the back is similar without brads so a little clearer.

I covered the cd with paper then stamped various images on both sides, the photo image comes from Victorian Romance cd, the flowers are attached using a flower brad and on the other side I glue a circle over it's pins.

Copper ATC

I've wanted to play with copper for a long time and this is my first attempt. This ATC is made from a sheet of light copper I firstly embossed and then used heated to change the colour and accent the Z. I did try to scan it but everything that was embossed looked debossed, my photo doesn't really show the differences in colours and I can't find where to turn the date off either.

Monday, 10 September 2007

The background image was stamped using versamark and heat embossed with clear powder I then used orange and red petal point chalk inks rubbed over until I was happy with the results.

Bathing beauties

The theme for this ATC swap was beathing beauties, the images are from Art-e-zine I've mainly just messed around with the backgrounds here the blue on the Postcard & hello sailor was a cheap mirror finish card with Marvey metallics splattered and spritz. The pale gold was achieved using a combination of alcohol inks a gold marker and surgical spirits.

DCM a little bit extra "Man card"

Cars, Boats, Trains & Planesis the theme for our Little Extra challenge this week on DCM. A good chance to stock up on kids cards and make a few of those poor, unloved "cards for men", maybe? How about "congratulations on Passing your Driving test" or "Got your Wings" for newly qualified pilots? - ok so we may be reaching a bit far with that one, but you never know! Basically, what we'd like you to do is put some transport on your cards this week, how you do it is up to you!

I've stamped one of the Aspect of design 2 - Nautical stamps onto acetate using Stazon and painted from behind using H20's. The depth is lost in scanning.

Degrees of Red

These three ATCs are for a swap with the theme set as red. The stamp is from Elusivc Images.

They have all been stamped onto acetate using Stazon and have gold pentouch picking up the background pattern.

For the first 2 - I also stamped onto the white card with black Stazon and again using the same image but with a red ink pad to create a shadow image on the first one, for the background I dabbed a red cardinal petal point ink pad. On the second image smudged the ink over the lady to give her a little added colour.

On this one I applied alcohol inks Red pepper & cranberry to add depth to the background then overlaid it onto red mountboard.

Run Wild - Zebras

I created this card using an Acrylic piece, the image was stamped with Stazon, glittered then for the background I used a brayer to apply the Brilliance tricolour ink pad and set with white embossing powder, I also did the edges with black Stazon.
The Zebra picture and the sand background both come from Joanna Sheen's Animal Antic CD.
